Influencer Contest Rules

The competition will be two-fold occurring in 5 different cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami and Austin.

Phase 1 involves a Social Media Cocktail Competition running from February to June 2024. 

Phase 2 will include the city finalists attendance at the VIP Dinner Tasting events, one  happening end of March, and the other beginning of June 2024.

Contest (the “Contest”) commences at 12:00:01a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on February 1st, 2024 and ends at 11:59:59p.m. ET on June 30th, 2024, (the “Contest Period”). This Contest is brought to you by Calvados Spirits Council (the “Contest Sponsor”) and executed by Branding & Buzzing (the “Agency”).

The Contest is open to legal residents of the US who reside in or near the 5 cities, and who have reached above the legal drinking age at the time of Contest entry.

There will be a total of 16 influencers such as bartenders, cocktail creators, cocktail authors and mixologists with a broad social media reach (at least 12K followers). Influencers will need a business Instagram account (an "Account") to participate.

Notwithstanding the above, this Contest is not open to employees of the Contest Sponsor or their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, Contest suppliers and judges, members of their immediate families (parents, siblings, spouses) and those with whom they are domiciled.


Phase 1 of the Contest: Social Media Cocktail Competition (February through June 2024)

You are required to create a unique cocktail using Calvados kits and promotional materials compiled and provided by the Calvados Spirits Council and Business France. Influencers will promote their cocktails on social media leading up to the Spirits Dinner events in their respective cities. The influencers with the highest social media engagement will be invited to onsite tasting at the Spirits Dinner

Phase 2 of the Contest: City Finalists Attending VIP Tasting Dinner (End of March & beginning of June 2024)

The selected influencers will be invited to join other trade professionals for an onsite tasting at the Spirits Dinner events to highlight Calvados in the presence of the producers and showcase their unique cocktail creations. During this tasting, the professionals in attendance will taste the cocktails and vote on their favorites to select the city winner.

The VIP Tasting Dinners will take place:

San Francisco March 25 | Los Angeles March 26 | New Orleans March 28 | Miami June 3,  Austin | June 5

Phase 3 of the Contest: All Expense Study Trip (August 2024)

The 5 winning influencers (1 per city) will go on a study trip to Normandy, France to further their knowledge, revive engagement, and thus generate additional content (stories and posts) for publication on social media. It is required that each influencer post 10-15 posts/stories during the events of the trip.

The participant will be required to follow the @DrinkCalvados Instagram account and tag in all his/her posts (

Winner of the contest in each participating city will win a trip to the Calvados region to discover this terroir and visit Calvados producers. Business France and the Calvados Spirit Council are responsible for organizing those trips.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be sold, transferred or converted to cash and will not be refunded if unused. No substitutions or changes are permitted. Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value.

Phase 1: 1 Influencer with the highest impressions/video views will be invited to the onsite tasting at the Spirits Dinner in their city.

There will be 5 winners in total (1 per city) that will win the study trip to Normandy, France.

The Agency will attempt to contact the winner via email (“Initial Notification”), with further information on the next steps. If the selected entrant cannot be reached or fails to respond to Initial Notification, for whatever reason, within two (2) business days, another entrant may be selected from the remaining eligible entries or the prize may be cancelled at Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.

If a selected entrant cannot be reached within the timeframe specified above, is not in compliance with these Contest rules, declines the prize, and email correspondence between Agency is not returned, the prize may not be awarded and Contest Sponsor reserves the right to randomly select another entry from the remaining eligible entries at Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion.


All prizes must be accepted as offered and/or awarded and may not be transferred, exchanged or substituted, whether for cash or otherwise except as expressly provided in these Contest rules or at the Contest Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or portion thereof with one of at least equal value, including in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize.

In the event of any dispute regarding the interpretation of these Contest rules, the decision or interpretation of the Contest Sponsor shall prevail.

All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsor. Any entry that is illegible, incomplete, altered, or contains false information, is invalid. Contest Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected claims or entries or votes or for any problems or technical malfunction of any internet or telephone network or broadcast transmission during the Contest Period. The Contest Sponsor is not responsible for any errors or omissions with respect to the printing or advertising of this Contest and reserves the right to withdraw, amend or cancel this Contest in the event of a printing or administrative error. The Contest Sponsor in its sole discretion withdraw, amend, cancel, suspend, terminate or modify this Contest in any way, in whole or in part, without notice, for any reason including if it determines in its sole discretion that this Contest is no longer capable of running as intended, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause of any nature whatsoever.

The Contest Sponsor accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by the awarded prizes or the Contest itself. By entering, entrant releases and holds harmless Contest Sponsor, its affiliated and related companies and advertising, promotional agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, shareholders, employees, agents, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Contest Entities”) from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the Contest or any prize won.

Without limiting the release of liability provisions herein, and for greater certainty, the Contest Entities will not be liable for: a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of entries in the Contest; b) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in operation of the application, tablet or any transmission in connection with the Contest; c) any communications line failure, theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; d) any problems with, or technical malfunction of, any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or failure of email which may occur for any reason whatsoever, including technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof; or e) any injury or damage to entrants’ or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Contest.

In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an email entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry as determined by the Contest Sponsor. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Entrants may be required to provide the Contest Sponsor with proof that he/she is the Authorized Account Holder of the email address associated with such Entry.

The Contest Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual from the Contest, and to ban that individual from participation in any future promotion of the Contest Sponsor, if the Contest Sponsor finds or believes such individual to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or where applicable; to be acting in violation of the Contest rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass the Contest Sponsor, the Contest Sponsor’s agencies, other entrants or any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE CONTEST SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. The Contest Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Contest Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

By entering this Contest, you consent to the Contest Sponsor’s use, should you become a winner, of your name, place of residence and photograph or other likeness for publicity, advertising or informational purposes in any media or format (including the Internet) now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity, without further compensation, notification, or permission, unless prohibited by law, in connection with this Contest or future similar contests. By entering, you declare that you have complied with the Contest rules.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Contest rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Contest rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
